Tuesday at 2:00pm with Russ

It's Tuesday at 2:00pm! (PST Time: I live and work from Southern California)

I was walking through town the other day on my normal route to my favorite coffee shop, and the street was completely torn up, and I literally moaned when I saw that the work would continue until March!

It's so easy to focus on the inconvenient side of construction:

* It's noisy

* It stirs up lots of dust and dirt

* It affects the normal flow of traffic

* It makes a mess

* Normal businesses are affected

On the upside, when the construction is complete:

* The street will be nice

* It will revive the area

* Businesses will thrive

* It will feel new

I don't like the process of construction because of the inconvenience of it, but I love the results of construction.

While this is true of most every construction project, this is also true in our own lives.

We don't like to do work on ourselves because it's messy, it's inconvenient, it's painful, and it keeps us from doing the things we think we need to be doing.

However, we do like the results of the work in our lives. New energy, better focus, healthier habits, new life, renewed vision.

Don't be afraid of doing the hard work in your life. It might be a lot of work, but in the end it will all be worth it.

What do you need to work on today?

What life projects have you been avoiding because you're afraid of what will get stirred up?

"Each of us is carving a stone, erecting a column, or cutting a piece of stained glass in the construction of something much bigger than ourselves." Adrienne Clarkson

"Construction is a matter of optimism; it's a matter of facing the future with confidence." Cesar Pelli

"The road to success is always under construction." Arnold Palmer
