It's Tuesday at 2:00pm! (PST Time: I live and work from Southern California)
Greetings to you!
Each week I send out a short leadership blog that's called "Tuesday at 2:00pm". The purpose of this is simply to provide a brief thought on leadership that you can read and think about in just a few minutes. I send it out every week at 2:00pm (PST) and encourage you to make an appointment with yourself to pause and think about the thing I'm writing about.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE:
"If it's a priority you'll find a way. If it isn't, you'll find an excuse." Jim Rohn
What does this stir up? Either write me HERE or comment at the end of the blog post HERE.
A LITTLE BIT DEEPER:
This is my last post for this 2024 year, and I'll close with this simple thought on priorities that kinds of wraps it all up.
Jim Rohn says it so well that you'd can't argue with it....priorities are what you focus on to accomplish. Everything else is extra.
It's easy to get tired of excuses, but the reality is that the excuse is simply helping to defining the priority.
Think about your current priorities:
Do you find yourself constantly thinking about them?
Do you make time to work on them in your schedule?
Do you feel pressure to focus and accomplish them?
Is it hard to turn your brain off and think about something else?
Yes, priorities can be obsessive. That's why it's a priority.
In fact, the definition of priority is this:
"A thing that is regarded as more important than another"
Stop making excuses for having priorities. This is a good thing. You just need to learn how to communicate them to those around you.DEEPER
DEEPER STILL:
The actress Marilu Henner once said this:
"Like it or not, the world evolves, priorities change and so do you."
As we come to the end of this year, find some time to celebrate some of the things you were able to accomplish this year, then begin thinking about some priorities for the coming year.
Here's how I start:
1) I make a Long List: I just list down all the things I think I want to do and focus on in the coming year. Often there are some crazy things on this list, but I just list them all down.
2) I weed through the list: merging items, crossing things off, moving them to a "not now" pile... I just work the list.
3) I choose and prioritize my top 10. Not 50 or 30, I just choose 10, and I put them in rank order of importance.
4) I then focus on the top 8. This is where I start. In order of importance, and I figure out how to move these from a list to my calendar to address them.
And remember, priorities change, so I need to constantly be working and reworking this list, moving things onto the list, and moving them off when I've accomplished them.
You don't have to apologize for having priorities. Be sure to identify things in all the domains of your life: Personal, Family, Vocation, Faith & Community.
Things I'm Reading, Listening To and Watching This Week:
Grab a tissue and watch this emotional video with Coldplay & Dick Van Dyke. A wonderful tribute in All My Love.
One of my favorite books over the past few years and one that addresses this issue of priorities: Atomic Habits by James Clear. Read it, Listen to it, Apply it.
Ken Coleman shares on Ramsey Solutions an article called How to Prioritize your Life
I love the Green Toys toy line. This week spent some time playing with this Car Carrier! Really fun!
I loved watching this documentary: Federer: Twelve Final Days. I always enjoyed watching him as a player and this shows how he finished his professional career. All class!
