It's Tuesday at 2:00pm! (PST Time: I live and work from Southern California)
Currently, I'm exploring different leadership quotes on this blog post, and pulling out some application for all of us. This is part of my personal journey to keep growing, learning and being stretched! Join me each Tuesday at 2:00pm (PST). It will take you just a few minutes to read through the 2 sections of this post, but don't miss the final section where I share some of the things I'm reading, listening to and enjoying this week.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE:
"The best way to predict the future is to create it." Peter F. Drucker
What does this stir up? Either write me HERE or comment at the end of the blog post HERE.
A LITTLE BIT DEEPER:
So many good Drucker quotes, so I want to share a couple more with you.
Last week, I shared Druckers quote on "MEASUREMENT" and had a couple of people push back with these comments:
"I'm not sure all things can be measured. Those things that can't be measured are often important to evaluate even if their value is only anecdotal."
"It's difficult to measure things that are internal, and not seen on the outside."
I agree with both of these comments, and thank you for responding...
My goal is to get us to think and to be willing to ask ourselves some questions that take us deeper.
This new quote from Drucker above, is also attributed to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.
I don't think the idea behind this is of FORCE. I think it's of OWNERSHIP. We need to take responsibility for our lives and the future we want to live.
This begins with our current reality and our ability to think forward positively instead of being overwhelmed and in a spiral of negativity.
It's not just our thought patterns, it's the fact that we have been created for a purpose and God has called each of us to pursue His call and purpose in our lives.
Ownership and Responsibility begin with us giving our lives to Him in obedience, and then trusting Him each step of the way as we live our the call and plan He has for us.
DEEPER STILL:
Drucker also says:
"The only thing we know about the future is that it will be different."
We don't know what the future will be like, but we can live in fear of that or we can embrace that.
About 8 years ago I had a LifePlan facilitated for me. It was an opportunity to begin to paint a picture of what God was calling me to, and it was the first time in a long time that I worked through a process of putting it on paper and then creating some action steps to move towards those goals.
The other day I was telling someone that I was living out a couple of things that showed up on those charts on the wall 8 years ago, and today they were a reality.
When I said that, I stopped and celebrated a little bit in my own head because I had accomplished a couple of things that I was hoping to do.
Each of us have been given gifts, strengths, passions, desires and a unique set of skills to be used in pursuing our Kingdom Contribution.
Don't sit back and wait for it to come. Move toward your future by taking proactive steps to get there, and don't forget to celebrate the motion forward and the completion! This is YOUR future!
Things I'm Reading, Listening To and Watching This Week:
I enjoyed listening to the first episode of this story of Lionel Messi. In anticipation of the start of the World Cup this next week, enjoy this series. The Last Cup: Lionel Messi's Dream
I'm still working my way through The Other Half of the Church from Jim Wilder & Michel Hendricks. Finished re-reading the chapter on Joy, and now am learning about Hesed. Really intersting reading.
This is a great way to read Drucker, one small bite at a time: The Daily Drucker
OK, so we started the last season of The Crown on Netflix. We've been waiting for this season to begin. Off we go.
I found these Del Campo Tostada snacks on Amazon... almost as good as the real thing from Ecuador, but these Peruvian corn nuts are great. Bring on the Ceviche de Camaron!
I really enjoyed listening to this Ben Taylor album from 2005. I'm a long-time James Taylor fan, and his son has a great voice and great music as well.
