LEADERSHIP QUOTES
We're exploring some great quotes that will help us in our lives and leadership. If you'd like to share your favorite with me, please post on the comments section of the Blog. You can read these past posts HERE.
The format for this season is the following:
#1) LEADERSHIP QUOTE: I'm going to share a quote with you. I'd like to encourage you to think about it, respond to it, process it. You can stop here, or go to Section 2.
#2) A LITTLE BIT DEEPER: I'm going to share a couple of thoughts that come to my mind when I think about the quote. Just a short reaction from me. You can stop here, or go to Section 3.
#3) DEEPER STILL: I'm going to share something I've found from someone else: A quote, some tips, a challenge, a thought....
#4) RUSS' LIST: I'll continue to share some links, ideas, books or products that I think some of you might benefit from.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE:
"Three Rules of Work: Out of clutter find simplicity. From discord find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity" Albert Einstein
What does this stir up? Either write me HERE or comment at the end of the blog post HERE.
A LITTLE BIT DEEPER:
This final thought on SIMPLICITY from Einstein. This guy spent his life taking the complex and making it simple!
How are you doing with the clutter in your life?
There's an INC. article that speaks to Einsteins quote and they talk about 2 kinds of clutter: Physical clutter, which is easy to see because it's right in front of our eyes and Emotional clutter, which can be a pattern of "coulda, shoulda, woulda." Read the full article HERE.
Have you been able to identify the clutter in your life and take some steps to eliminate it?
Physical Clutter: That pile in the garage, the mystery mound of paper on the side of my desk, the drawer where everything goes that doesn't have it's own place... clutter. Clean it out & there's freedom!
DEEPER STILL:
Sometimes identifying emotional clutter in your life is a journey and a process.
You might need a professional to walk alongside you to help you identify, define, and determine your actions.
I've been working on some clutter in my life, and I want to just tell you... it's a lot of work! Digging into deep and hidden parts of our story sometimes uncovers some really uncomfortable and surprising things.
Our life story is what makes us who we are, but it doesn't define who we'll be for all time. God does that.
When we think of simplicity and clutter, it's easy to focus on the physical things around us that we see every day. Don't ignore the clutter that's on the inside. Cleaning, moving, eliminating, defining, processing and transitioning the inside stuff often feels as freeing as cleaning off your desk or cleaning out your garage. Do the work!
Things I'm Reading, Listening To and Watching This Week:
I'm enjoying this book: Beyond the Local Church by Sam Metcalf. Great thoughts on how the church and non-profits come together!
One of my all-time favorite guitar albums: Craig Chaquico: Accoustic Highway on Apple.
Here is the full INC. article from Sylvia Lafair on Einsteins quote.
We played a new fun game last night with our family: Hues & Cues. It's a color and clue game that's a little color-blinding!
While in Georgia last week, some co-workers shared about a podcast called In The Red Clay that told some true stories of crime in that region from the 40's, 50's & 60's. I've enjoyed listening to some of these stories this past week.
