VISUAL PRIORITIES AND WHITE BOARDS
I heard from one of our readers and a friend of mine this past week that by putting a white board in her office, it has helped her with her tasks, goals and her to-do list. Thank you Linda for your comments.
This got me thinking about the power of putting your lists, goals and action items in front of you as a way to remind you, to inspire you and to keep you focused.
Many of you know my love of technology. I try to keep up with the best apps, I take advantage of multiple devices, and am always looking for electronic tools that increase productivity and effectiveness.
However, many of you also know of my love of white boards. I couldn't survive without a large, white surface to write, think, dream, erase and plan. My office at one time had an entire wall of white boards on it, and now I have a couple that serve me well. I even have a small one that fits in my carry-on bag that I can carry with me and use with a one-to-one meeting with someone. I know, a little obsessive.
In an article from "Productive and Free", Tet shares "8 Powerful Benefits of Writing Things Down". Look at this list:

For me, when I write things down and I can see them and they become REAL. I am able to clear my mind a little, but it also is a way for me to acknowledge what I need to do and not do. Many times I'll write something down, then after looking at it and thinking about It, I'll erase it because I realize it's not that important.
I'm not going to sell you a white board today, but I want to encourage you as you work on your priorities. Take the time to write things down. It will make a difference.
