It's Tuesday at 2:00pm! (PST Time: I live and work from Southern California)
Currently, I'm exploring different leadership quotes on this blog post, and pulling out some application for all of us. This is part of my personal journey to keep growing, learning and being stretched! Join me each Tuesday at 2:00pm (PST). It will take you just a few minutes to read through the 2 sections of this post, but don't miss the final section where I share some of the things I'm reading, listening to and enjoying this week.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE:
"Dreams are meant to be lived."
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
What does this stir up? Either write me HERE or comment at the end of the blog post HERE.
A LITTLE BIT DEEPER:
This is the last quote on this journey with , "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" and we'll move on next week.
There are a number of these themes in the Mitty Movie:
"Stop Dreaming: Start Living"
"Go Further"
"Explore New Territory"
"Adventure Waits for No One"
If you feel STUCK, the themes of this movie challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone and LIVE.
"Dreams are meant to be lived"
Are you living your dreams or are they aspirational ideas that you keep locked up in a secret place that you don't spend anytime time thinking about or working towards?
I think the overall them from Walter Mitty is simply about LIFE and for many of us, we are so busy living our life that we don't spend much time dreaming about our life.
What challenges you from the world of Walter Mitty?
DEEPER STILL:
Last night I was on a Zoom call with a bunch of leaders in the Philippines. One of the themes we talked about was simply the challenge to DREAM and then to ACTIVATE THOSE DREAMS.
Sharing from my personal experience, I reminded them of a couple of big dreams I had a number of years back, and the first steps I took to making them a reality. It doesn't just happen on it's own. For a dream to become a plan it takes work. Here are a couple of things I shared with them:
Test the Dream: run it by other people, try it out, see if someone else is doing something like it, "hold it" for a while to see if it will keep pushing you. Sometimes we just into something too quickly.
Convert your Dream into Actionable Goals: break it down, start with "what's important now", take baby steps
Find Others to Join You: invite some others into your dream and get their help and partnership; it will bring energy!
We all have dreams, but some of us have been able to move those dreams into our lives and it's brought a deeper sense of purpose, fulfillment and impact.
In John 10:10 Jesus states: "...I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." (MSG)
Get this: Jesus wants us to life "beyond" our dreams. Can you imagine? "Better than we ever dreamed of"?
What will it take for you to start dreaming again? What's keeping you from this greater life?
Things I'm Reading, Listening To and Watching This Week:
This week on some long walks I started listening to Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. It's a great story on the launch of Nike.
I shared this video at a couple of events I was leading, but I wanted it again this week. From March of '22, Pastor Andy Stanley speaks to the Georgia House of Representatives. He shares a great challenge and message not only to these lawmakers, but to you and I as well.
I always come back to this playlist from Chris Stapleton Essentials.
On a flight the other day, I watched a couple of episodes from the Amazon Series, Bosch. It's a detective series based in Los Angeles. I got sucked into it... enjoyed the first season.
I'm reading a great fiction book from 2021 by Ted Bell called "Sea Hawke". A unrealistic spy-secret agents-unrealistic-pure adventure book. I especially enjoyed the focus on Cuba!
